Hello, I'm Tom Wambecke, chief of Learning Innovation here at the International Training Centre of the ilo, and I'm responsible for learning innovation somewhere at the intersection between innovation, learning and technology. My first question to you in this masterclass on artificial intelligence, Am I a real person or am I artificially generated? Welcome to this masterclass on artificial intelligence and the link with learning, training and knowledge management. Often when we talk about AI these days, we have plenty of metaphors. Who has heard, for example, that AI, and in particular generative AI, is becoming the calculator of writing? The problem with these metaphors is that they sometimes oversimplify, let's say, the nature of the impact of what AI really can do. And that's why in this masterclass we would tackle, let's say, what AI and generative AI can do for a number of different dimensions. We will look at it at the intersection of learning, training and knowledge management in general. What we will do is ask ourselves a whole set of different questions. What is the link between AI and capacity development services as we are working here in a training institute? How can AI, for example, increase the productivity in learning in the learning management cycle, but also in the knowledge cycle? How can we move AI by merely, let's say, content production? These are just a few general questions that we want to ask ourselves and of course also dive deep into more specific questions. What are we going to do with algorithmic bias and the gender dimension of the entire discussion? What are the few ethical considerations that we need to take into account? How can AI specifically accelerate communication and collaboration in the shape of, let's say, AI co pilots and actually assisted mentoring and tutoring and so on? So a lot of different questions. And last but not least, I would say the most important question for us how could basically AI lead to innovation? How could AI lead to posing new questions? Because asking new questions, that's what learning is all about.
